2022 saw homebuddy® launch its unique online platform that allows homeowners and private sellers to advertise and sell their property privately without the need to appoint, rely on and pay an estate agent.
There is a myth in the world of real estate that you need an estate agent to sell your property. homebuddy® aims to dispel this myth whilst educating and encouraging sellers to take matters into their own hands and sell their home privately.
homebuddy has initially launched in South Wales but aims to quickly expand across the UK. homebuddy is the creation of Dan and Andrew. Dan’s background is working in the legal sector as a solicitor whilst Andrew is a builder with over 30 years’ experience in building homes.
Homebuddy, like many ideas, was conceived out of a frustration from a lack of options. Of course, there are plenty of estate agents out there, high street estate agents such as Darlows and Peter Alan as well as online estate agents like Purple Bricks and Yopa, but what if, you don’t want to appoint an estate agent, what then? You, like us, may be surprised to learn that there isn’t a website / platform available that is dedicated to selling homes privately, in the same way that auto trader provides this service for vehicles. As such, homebuddy was created.
When people choose to sell their homes privately, they don’t have the ability to advertise on popular websites (such as Rightmove and Zoopla), as those can only be accessed through an estate agent. This means that buyers are potentially missing out on the opportunity to purchase properties that are sold privately. As such, private sellers have to make do with generic sites such as Facebook, eBay, Gumtree and the free ads. homebuddy wants to change this and was created to fill this void.
Many buyers may not even be aware that there is a market for private house sales, let alone where they should be looking. Those who do know may be put off at the thought of sifting through various adverts not related to properties or by a lack of trust in a potential advert. There were 8.58% online transactions vs high street transactions in Q4 20191 but with 58%2 of people concerned about estate agent fees and with the launch of homebuddy® this is set to change as more and more of us move across to a simpler and cheaper way of selling our property.
So whether you are buying or selling, why not check out homebuddy’s platform today.
